There are 7 main points for the correct use and maintenance of batteries
The correct use and maintenance of batteries mainly include the following 7 points:
1. Check if the fixing bolts of the battery on the bracket are tightened. Improper installation may cause damage to the housing due to driving vibration. Also, do not place metal objects on the battery to prevent short circuits.
2. Regularly check whether the pole and terminal are connected reliably. To prevent oxidation of the terminals, protective agents such as Vaseline can be applied.
3. The method of directly igniting (short circuit test) cannot be used to check the battery level, as this can cause damage to the battery.
Ordinary lead-acid batteries should pay attention to regularly adding distilled water. Dry charged batteries should be properly charged before use. As for maintenance free batteries that can be refilled with water, it is not impossible to maintain them properly. Adding distilled water when necessary can help extend their service life.
The air holes on the battery cover should be unobstructed. When charging a battery, a large number of bubbles will be generated. If the vent hole is blocked, the gas cannot escape. When the pressure increases to a certain degree, it will cause the battery shell to explode.
There is often a yellow white paste around the battery pole and cover, which is caused by sulfuric acid corroding the root pole, wire clip, fixing bracket, etc. These substances have a high resistance and need to be removed in a timely manner.
When two batteries need to be used in series, the capacity of the batteries is equal. Otherwise, it will affect the service life of the battery.
